The main difference between RAL installation and conventional installation lies in controlling vapour diffusion and preventing moisture from penetrating the wall, which prevents condensation, mould and damage to the joinery.

Layers of RAL installation
Inner layer – vapour barrier
Prevents internal vapour from penetrating the joint between the wall and the window.
Middle layer – thermal and sound insulation
PU foam or a special tape is most commonly used. It provides strength and insulation.
Outer layer – vapour-permeable tape
Allows moisture to escape outwards, but does not permit water and wind to penetrate.
